REGISTRATION DATES FOR SUMMER SCHOOL 2019:
Summer school is a great way to upgrade a course, get a jump-start on the next school year,, redo any classes they may have struggled with or earn credits toward your high school diploma.
There is onsite one-on-one teacher assistance and sit-down clssses for Math 10C and Science 10 with a minimum enrollment.
Both Learning Centres offer summer school courses in July. During summer school, teachers are available for one-on-one assistance Monday to Friday during summer school operatinal hours.
Registrations will be held at both Morinville Learning Centre at 780-939-4033, and Sturgeon Learning Centre at 780-923-2443.
There will be two seperate dates for Summer School Registrations at each Learning Centre:
- for CALM and PHYS ED 10 ONLY - Thursday, May 2nd from 5-7 pm.
- for ALL OTHER COURSES - Wednesday, May 22nd from 5-7 pm.
For convenience a Summer School Registration Package may be accessed and completed prior to registration. A Birth Certificate is required at time of registration as proof of legal name and age.
Students under 18 years of age require parent / guardian authorization on Registration Forms.
Students who register for Phys Ed will also require an Alberta Health Care Number as well as a fee of $140 to cover cost of bussing and for admission to various venues. Payment must be in cash or cheque.
We offer all high school levels (Grades 10 to 12) of core subjects and career and technology studies courses, including:
- Social Studies
- Work Experience
- Phys. Ed. 10
Courses are composed of modules that can be completed at a Learning Centre or off-site on your own time. Some courses (e.g. Phys. Ed. 10) may also be offered as individual classes. The credits earned by students are applied toward their high school diploma.
Note: During summer school, students can only be registered in one 5-credit core subject.
Exams - Students completing diploma level courses will write their diploma exams in August, information regarding August Diploma writing centre will be provided at registration.
It is recommended to register for Summer School DIPLOMA courses prior to the end of May. Registrations for NON DIPLOMA courses can be accepted until the end of June.
For non-diploma level courses, all course work and exams are to be completed prior to the last day of summer school, the date will be provided at time of registration.
