Kristin Lapierre
Acting Principal & Counsellor
With a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, where she double majored in biology and mathematics and minored in psychology, as well as a Master's Degree in educational leadership from Queens University, Sherri brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. Sherri will be focusing on growing Work Experience, the Green Certificate Program, the Registered Apprentice Program (RAP) and the Dual Credit Program across all High School programming in the Division.
With her High School Leadership experience, Summer School Principal experience and connections to our communities, Sherri is well positioned to grow student enrolment and increase collaboration with post-secondary institutions, local businesses, municipalities, and industry at the Learning Centres, Redwater High School and Sturgeon Composite High School. Sherri grew up on a farm in Sturgeon County and is proud of her deep roots and family in the area. She began her teaching career in Mayerthorpe in 1996 before joining Sturgeon Composite High School in 2001. In 2014, she began her administrative journey at Redwater School. Sherri then was appointed Vice Principal at Gibbons School, where she eventually became Acting Principal. In December 2020, Sherri was appointed to Sturgeon Composite High School as Acting Principal before officially becoming Principal in June 2021.
